Meet the Butcher

Born and raised in San Luis Obispo County, Garrett Roth, has had a passion for the Agriculture Industry. Being a 5th generation family member with The Miller Moth Ranch, it is in his blood to farm and be a mindful steward of the land. Since a young age he has been part of maintaining the ranching/farming operation. It was no surprise that he followed his talent, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Systems Management at California Polytechnic State University, located in San Luis Obispo, California. Garrett has always been an avid hunter and fisherman; he put those skills to work for a local outfitting business, as a recreational hunting guide for over 10 years. Harvesting and processing many animals over the years, he developed the knife skills required to be in the meat processing industry. Further growing his knowledge of butchering with video tutorials by global butchers, processing by the "learn by doing motto", and most importantly the knowledge from local butchers caring on there knowledge to the next generation. He saw the needs to diversify the ranch while also being a great asset for the community.  Garrett is a licensed California State Meat Inspector and manages Ranchita Meat Company (Custom Exempt Meat Processing Shop) full-time on the family ranch.

The Miller Moth Ranch

The Miller Moth Ranch home to Ranchita Meat Company is a 5th generation family owned and operated ranch. The property was settled on at the turn of the nineteenth century. At this time the property was planted to dry land almonds and part of the Historic Paso Robles Almond Association. The property evolved over the years into dryland grain, hay, and livestock production. The ranch now offers a great event space called Almond Springs and in 2023 Garrett Roth opened the Miller Moth Ranch next entity, Ranchita Meat Company. The opening of the butcher shop has been very exciting for the ranch. We can now sell premium beef and goat animals and the new owners can have Ranchita Meat company process, cut, and wrap the livestock.
